FOU D’FORÊT

From July 1st to September 1st, 2025, the Boréalis museum exhibits Fou d’Forêt, a new temporary exhibition that puts the forest in the spotlight. Staying true to its mission, Boréalis invites you to discover this unique and free experience. Through a sensory and visual approach, the exhibition offers a fresh perspective on the forest—its beauty, fragility, and importance in our lives. A journey through sound and sight that gives voice to the forest, revealing its universal nature and deep humanity. Through touching testimonials and immersive staging, this “podcast-exhibit” draws you into the lungs of the Earth, where every tree, gust of wind, and glimmer of light becomes a hidden message ready to be unveiled.

This exhibition, brought to life by the sensitive lens of multiple photographers, offers a deep and artistic reimagining of the forest—merging reality, memory, and waking dreams. With a rich soundscape and carefully designed visual elements, Fou d’Forêt transforms your visit into an introspective forest journey. More than a simple exhibition, it’s a sensory experience—an invitation to slow down, feel, and reflect on our connection with nature. Fou d’Forêt is a tribute to local artists from Portneuf and a reverence to the guardians of the Earth, our precious forests, which, through each image, bear witness to our evolution, our future, and our past.

Dive into the heart of the living world

Through the intimate stories of our contributors, Fou d’Forêt unveils the subtle knowledge of those who have lived in harmony with the rhythm of the seasons and the breath of the trees. These authentic voices do not seek to dominate nature, but to live with it. Their relationship with the forest is built on respect, transmission, and ancestral wisdom passed down through generations. By listening to their stories, a world of precious knowledge unfolds—a living legacy to ensure that forest artistry continues to resonate for future generations. These stories are not just memories; they are guideposts, bridges between past and future, shards of truth that echo our own search for balance. To walk in the forest is to learn to listen differently—to observe gently, and to understand that every crackling branch, every bird in flight, every scent of moss carries a silent truth.

Even though we are all unique beings shaped by different experiences, the forest is part of us. It is a universal space that everyone has encountered at least once—through a childhood path, a school trip, or a weekend camping getaway. Our bond with the forest is alive, ever-changing, and evolving. It grows with us through seasons, ages, and awakenings. When we take the time to truly listen and feel, the forest offers us a moment of serenity, allowing us to become one with its life, rhythm, and biodiversity.

Fou d’Forêt invites you to slow down and relearn the language of the living. To recognize that the forest is not just a backdrop—it is a presence, an ally, a guardian. Entering this exhibition is not merely about seeing an artwork; it’s about resonating with a world that speaks to us… if we take the time to listen.
